Initiatives

Opportunity Squared initiatives are projects that allow us to have the greatest impact in our area by collaborating and pooling our regional resources to promote growth and increasse quality of life.  Opportunity Squared has 2 primary initiatives.

#IowaSouth

#IowaSouth is a cooperative collection of communities dedicated to growing the regional economy by helping you find space to breathe, connect to a place that appreciates you, allows you more personal time, and lets you find your voice.

Every city in the 9-county area has a little rural charm blended with a little downtown bustle. Communities are rich in character and culture. This is not your grandparent’s rural. Sure, there’s still 4H, but there’s so much more!

Discover a way of life that matches your needs and interests- good jobs and competitive wages in fields like engineering, technology and health care, broadband connectivity, green space and miles of trails, really low commute times, outdoor recreation and leisure interests, open-mindedness and family friendly year-round activities.

The bottom line is this- #IowaSouth has a diverse $12.5 billion economy in sectors such as agriculture, automotive, education, health care, technology, manufacturing, transportation & logistics, and retail. And with a lower cost of living, you can live BIG in a smaller neighborhood. Oh, and barista’s and bartenders know your name here too.
