Educators in the Workplace
This unique annual summer workshop, offered through a collaboration between local economic developers, Indian Hills Community College and Des Moines Area Community College, provide teachers, administrators and counselors with workplace tours and tools that allow them to get back in the classroom and reach K-12 students with hands-on experience of the people and places offering work that’s close to home, ready to hire, and with livable wages.
Participants will experience presentations at area businesses and industries, focusing on the future content of technology and the needs of the changing workforce.
Target Audience: K-12 teachers, counselors and administrators are encouraged to attend.

It’s also good to know what industry sectors employ the eligible workforce (ages 18-64), including manufacturing, healthcare, retail, construction, hospitality, and so on. Customized wage reports are available upon request.
